Quick Answers

How do I start a charging session at an EVHub station?
There are three ways to start a session:
  • EVHub App: Open the app, tap "Find a Station", select your station, and tap "Start Charging" on the connector.
  • QR Code: Scan the QR code on the charger with your phone camera — you'll be taken directly to the start screen.
  • RFID Card: Tap your EVHub RFID card on the card reader on the station. The session starts automatically within 5 seconds.
Once started, your session details appear live in the app — including energy delivered, power level, time elapsed, and estimated cost.
How do I stop my charging session?
You can stop a session in any of the following ways:
  • Tap "Stop Session" in the EVHub app on the active session screen.
  • Tap your RFID card on the station reader again — this toggles the session off.
  • The session also ends automatically when your EV reports it is fully charged, or when the scheduled session time expires if you set one.
After stopping, your charge detail record (CDR) and receipt are sent to your email within a few minutes.
What types of connectors does EVHub support?
EVHub stations support the following connector standards:
  • CCS2 (Combined Charging System Type 2) — DC fast charge, up to 240 kW. Supported by most modern EVs in Africa.
  • GB/T (China’s national standard) — DC fast charging, up to 240 kW. Using a unique dual-plug system for DC connections by most modern EVs in Africa.
  • CHAdeMO — DC fast charge, available at select stations for older Nissan Leaf and similar vehicles.
Connector availability varies by station. Check the EVHub app or station finder to see which connectors are available at your chosen location before you travel.
The charger is showing an error or won't start. What should I do?
Try these steps in order:
  • Ensure your charging cable is fully inserted — push firmly until you hear/feel a click.
  • Check that the station is showing as "Available" on the app — it may be reserved or in another session.
  • Try unplugging and re-plugging the cable, then re-initiating the session.
  • If using RFID, ensure your card is registered and active in your EVHub account.
  • If none of these work, use the "Report Issue" button in the app, or call our 24/7 support line. Our field team aims to respond within 45 minutes for active faults.
How long does it take to charge my EV?
Charge time depends on your EV's battery capacity, its onboard charger limit, and the station type:
  • DC Fast Charge (120–240 kW): 10–20 minutes to reach 80% on most EVs.
  • AC Type 2 (22 kW): 1.5–3 hours for a full charge on a mid-range EV.
  • AC Type 2 (7 kW): 4–8 hours — ideal for overnight charging.
The EVHub app shows a live estimated completion time based on your vehicle's reported State of Charge (SoC).
What payment methods does EVHub accept?
EVHub supports the following payment methods across Ghana and Nigeria:
  • Ghana: MTN Mobile Money (MoMo), Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, Visa/Mastercard, EVHub Wallet
  • Nigeria: MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, Opay, Flutterwave, Visa/Mastercard, EVHub Wallet
You can add and manage payment methods in the Wallet section of the EVHub app. We recommend pre-loading your EVHub Wallet for the fastest checkout experience at the station.
My mobile money payment failed. What happens to my session?
If your payment fails during or after a session:
  • Your session will not be interrupted mid-charge — we never cut power during an active session due to a payment error.
  • The outstanding amount is added to your account balance, and you'll receive a notification with a payment link.
  • You have 48 hours to settle the balance before your account is temporarily restricted.
  • If the failure was due to a network or gateway error on our end, the charge is automatically waived after our systems reconcile (usually within 2 hours).
Contact support if you believe you were charged but the payment shows as failed — we can verify and correct within 24 hours.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are processed for sessions where a proven technical fault on EVHub's side caused an incorrect charge. To request one:
  • Go to Session History in the app, select the relevant session, and tap "Dispute this charge".
  • Alternatively, email billing@evhubltd.com with your session ID and a brief description.
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method or EVHub Wallet within 3–5 business days. We review all disputes within 48 hours.
How is the cost of charging calculated?
EVHub charges are based on energy consumed (kWh), not time. Our standard pricing:
  • Ghana: From ₵0.85 per kWh (AC) · From ₵4.20 per kWh (DC Fast)
  • Nigeria: From ₦28 per kWh (AC) · From ₦42 per kWh (DC Fast)
Prices may vary by station and tariff. The EVHub app always shows the applicable tariff before you start a session — tap the station and select a connector to see live pricing. There are no hidden fees or minimum charges.
How do I create an EVHub account?
Download the EVHub app from the App Store or Google Play, select your country, then tap "Create Account". You'll need:
  • A valid phone number (used as your primary login and for payment)
  • An email address (for receipts and account recovery)
  • A secure password
Your account is verified via a one-time SMS code. Once created, you can add a payment method and start charging immediately — no waiting period.
How do I get and register an EVHub RFID card?
RFID cards allow you to start and stop sessions without using your phone. To get one:
  • Request a card via the Account → RFID Cards section of the app.
  • Cards are delivered to your address within 5–7 business days for a one-time fee of ₵15 / ₦500.
  • Once delivered, activate it in the app under RFID Cards → Activate New Card and tap the card on your phone's NFC reader.
You can register up to 3 RFID cards per account (useful for family vehicles).
I can't log in to my account. What should I do?
Try these steps:
  • Tap "Forgot Password" on the login screen and follow the SMS or email reset link.
  • Ensure you are using the same phone number you registered with — not an email address.
  • If your number has changed, contact support at support@evhubltd.com with proof of identity and your old number.
  • If your account shows as suspended, it may be due to an outstanding balance — log in via the web at evhubltd.com/account to resolve it.
Where can I download the EVHub app?
The EVHub app is available on:
  • iOS: Search "EVHub" on the Apple App Store — compatible with iPhone running iOS 14 or later.
  • Android: Search "EVHub" on Google Play — compatible with Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later.
The app is free to download. You only pay for the energy you charge.
Why isn't the station I'm at showing on the app map?
If a station doesn't appear on the map:
  • Ensure Location Services are enabled for the EVHub app on your phone.
  • Try refreshing the map by pulling down on the map view.
  • The station may be temporarily offline and hidden from the map — look for it by searching its name in the app's search bar.
  • Some recently installed stations may take up to 24 hours to appear on the live map after activation.
If none of these help, use the Contact Us page to report the missing station.
How does the EVHub Partner Programme work?
The Partner Programme allows businesses — shopping centres, hotels, offices, fuel stations, hospitals — to host EVHub chargers on their premises. Here's how it works:
  • EVHub installs the charging hardware at no upfront cost to qualifying partners.
  • You earn revenue from every session on your chargers — typically 15–25% of session revenue depending on your site traffic and agreement type.
  • EVHub handles all maintenance, software, payment processing, and customer support.
  • You attract EV-driving customers who stay longer on your premises.
Interested? Visit our Partner page or email partners@evhubltd.com.
What are the site requirements for hosting an EVHub charger?
Minimum requirements for a partner site:
  • Power supply: 3-phase electrical supply (or single-phase for AC chargers)
  • Space: At least 2 dedicated parking bays accessible to the public or staff
  • Connectivity: Stable mobile data signal or Wi-Fi for OCPP communication (EVHub can install a cellular modem if needed)
  • Access: 24-hour access preferred for public charging; restricted access is fine for staff-only installations
Our technical team will conduct a free site survey before confirming eligibility. Contact us to arrange one.
How do I list my network on the EVHub aggregator platform?
EVHub supports OCPI 2.2.1 for third-party CPO onboarding. To register your network:
  • Contact our enterprise team at cpo@evhubltd.com with your company details and existing station count.
  • We'll provision a sandbox OCPI environment for integration testing — typically ready within 2 business days.
  • After successful testing, we deploy to production and your stations become visible on EVHub's driver app and network map.
  • Revenue sharing and SLA terms are agreed in a formal CPO Agreement before go-live.
See the CPO Dashboard for a live preview of the operator interface.
What protocols does EVHub's CSMS support?
EVHub's Charge Station Management System (CSMS) supports:
  • OCPP 1.6J — JSON over WebSocket (legacy charger support)
  • OCPP 2.0.1 — Full implementation including security profiles, smart charging, and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge
  • OCPI 2.2.1 — For CPO-to-eMSP roaming, CDR exchange, and token authorisation
All connections are secured with TLS 1.3 and client-certificate mutual authentication. API documentation is available via our developer portal.
What uptime SLA does EVHub offer for its CSMS?
EVHub's CSMS platform is covered by a 99.5% monthly uptime SLA for Enterprise CPO agreements. This includes:
  • Redundant infrastructure across two availability zones
  • Automated failover with sub-60-second recovery
  • 24/7 NOC (Network Operations Centre) monitoring
  • Scheduled maintenance windows communicated 72 hours in advance
SLA credits are applied automatically to the next billing period for any breach. Full SLA terms are included in the CPO Master Agreement.
